Easter Egg Decoration – Family Workshop
A morning of family fun with traditional Easter crafts including decorating eggs.
Historically, it was traditional to use up all of the household’s eggs before Lent began which is when eggs were originally forbidden. During Lent, since chickens would not stop producing eggs, there would be a surplus to use or eaten quickly to prevent spoiling. With the coming of Easter, the decorating and eating of eggs was formed as the tradition we know today.
Join us in this British tradition to use dyes or acrylic paints to decorate chicken eggs to take home and hide away for children to find on Easter morning.
