40 Years Watching Paint Dry!

Geoff Tristram pic canal resizedYou may not have heard his name, but you’re sure to have seen his work.

Even if you don’t consider yourself a great art lover – we can guarantee you’ll find something you like amongst his paintings.

Stourbridge’s own Geoff Tristram has spent 40 years creating fine art and cartoons for the likes of Ravensburger Puzzles, Trivial Pursuit, The BBC, Steve Bull, Penguin Books, Embassy World Snooker, UB40, Cadbury’s, Thornton’s, Reeves Paints, Paper Rose Greetings Cards and hundreds more.

His work has been proudly printed on postage stamps, jigsaw puzzles, press adverts, billboards, packaging . . . the list goes on and on!

So, when we say you will have seen his work, we’re pretty confident that at some point – you will!

He has created caricatures of famous faces from Tina Turner to Ant and Dec and is also well known for his cat art, which he finds quite funny having never owned a cat himself!

One of his more recent, local projects is the wall art at Brierley Hill restaurant, Il Michelangelo.

For a more comprehensive list of Geoff’s work, you can visit his website – or better still, just come and see it for yourself while it’s on show on your doorstep!

The special exhibition at Himley Hall, entitled  ‘40 Years Watching Paint Dry’, co-incides with the artists 60th birthday (Happy Birthday Trist!) and runs throughout the summer until Sunday 7th September.

Come along, we know you’ll love it.

Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday & Bank Holiday Monday 2.00pm – 5.00pm and admission is free.
