Taste buds will be tickled at an outdoor food demonstration as part of this month’s Dudley CommUNITY Day.
Talented chef Samy from Channai in South India is taking time out from the busy kitchen at Dudley’s popular eatery, The Venue to cook on an outdoor stage in Dudley Market Place. The outdoor rig comes complete with overhead cameras and screen to make sure that audiences can see every slice, splash and stir as he shows audiences how to make the best Dosa in town.
He will be showing a Dosa, a traditional Indian dish, similar to a crepe and served with various dips or fillings. It’s very popular in South India but is served throughout the whole of India. The Venue chose this dish to showcase as they have a dedicated Dosa station in the restaurant which always proves very popular with diners.
He’ll be cooking and entertaining on the main stage in the Market Place with four slots at 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.15pm. This will be interspersed with entertainment and music from NN Dance and Cheer and Azaad Dhol Group.
Dudley CommUNITY Day celebrates all that is good about Dudley town and wider borough. The event on Saturday 19 September will run from 10am – 4pm in Dudley Town Centre and the programme will include music, dance, entertainment and stalls.
