Egg-citing Easter fun in Dudley!

GThere’s no need to hunt for stuff to do around Dudley this Easter – we have an egg-straordinary amount of activities at our various venues and attractions that promise to have you hopping with egg-citement!

Chocs away folks, but don’t make it a flying visit. There’s so many cracking events you don’t want to miss out.

Okay, okay! Enough of the Easter puns already.  Let’s cut to the chase, here’s what you want to know.  There’s all this to keep your little ones occupied and out of trouble this Easter holiday…

Family Easter days out

4th April – Easter fun at Mary Stevens Park

Bring a boiled egg to decorate then have a go at egg rolling and en egg and spoon race, followed by a family treasure hunt. £2 per child. 10am – 3pm. To book call 01384 815279.

10th April – Dudley Council’s Let’s Feel Good! entertainment day at the Churchill Shopping Centre

Have fun while you shop! Drop-in activity classes for all ages will take place from 10am to 3pm. Taster sessions will range from adult and junior bootcamps to volleyball, kettlebell workouts and rowing machine challenges. As well as getting active, children can enjoy free face painting and there will also be competitions for adults and children, with fabulous prizes up for grabs.

28/03/2015 – 12/04/2015 – Egg-citing Easter Activities at the Black Country Living Museum

Hop on over to the Black Country Living Museum where a cracking programme of Easter fun is ready and waiting! Take part in an “egg-citing” Easter egg hunt taking place across the Museum’s 26 acres, get crafty with some egg painting activities, test your Easter knowledge and win a prize in a quiz or get hands-on in an ‘egg rolling’ competition. Creative craft activities for hands-on messy fun

2nd April – Glass bunny making at Broadfield House Glass Museum

A whole day for 4+ year old’s to spend in our glass fusing studio making a number of pieces including glass bunnies.

8th April – Creature comforts at The Leasowes

Make a bird box, bat box or bug hotel for your own garden.  £4 per box.  To book, call 01384 814642. 10am – 12pm.

9th April – Jack & The Beanstalk family crafts workshop

Fun crafts workshop suitable for the whole family. Age guide 4+. Several craft activities to have a go at and take home; lots of sticking, sparkle and laughter with the museum education staff.10.30am – 3.30pm. Cost: £2.30

9th April – Recycling craft at Mary Stevens Park

Make something really rubbish with recycled materials!  11am – 12.30pm. £2 per child.  To book, call 01384 815279.

10th April – Rainbow fused coasters family glass craft at Broadfield House Glass Museum

A relaxed craft session for all the family. Drop into the workshop area and have a go at different glass crafts; a different activity each month. Crafts include glass painting, sand blasting, fusing and glass engraving. Age guide 4+. Cost: £4.00. Workshops running all day.

2nd April and 10th April – Den building at Cotwall End

7th April – Potting workshop at Priory Park

8th April – Pond dipping at Fens Pool

Exciting exhibitions to feast your eyes upon

28/03/2015 – 12/04/2015 – Underground egg-sibition at Dudley Canal Trust Trips

This event will show off hundreds of eggs, hand-painting by hundreds of local school children aged 5 to 10, as well as offering the chance to win some chocolatey prizes.

11th-12th April – Model Railway Exhibition

Various layouts, trade stands, demonstrations and refreshments. Free parking. Sat, 10am to 5pm. Sun, 10am to 4.30pm. Adults £3, Child/OAP £2, Family (2+2) £9. There are 1 hour boat trips along the Stourbridge Canal on both days on board the Trust’s Trip Boat ‘The Blackcountry Man’.

Family treasure trails to unearth your detective skills

28/03/2015 – 11/04/2015 – Family Trails at the Dudley Museum & Art Gallery; Red House Glass Cone and Broadfield House Glass Museum

Drop in at anytime but allow at least 30 minutes to complete the trail. A free craft is also included. Age guide 4+. Free events.

4th April – Easter hunt at Priory Park

8th April – Scavenger hunt at Himley Hall
