Some of our beloved, historic attractions in Dudley and Stourbridge featured on Countryfile at the weekend – showcasing some of the amazing sites that make the Black Country a great place to visit.
Taking centre stage on the BBC show were the Wren’s Nest National Nature Reserve, Dudley Canal Trust, Stourbridge’s Red House Glass Cone and Kinver rock houses.
We hope presenters Matt Baker and Ellie Harrison enjoyed their visit to Dudley borough – I know the attractions gave them a hearty Black Country welcome.
You can see Ellie hunting for fossils at Wren’s Nest, glassblowing at the Red House Cone and taking a boat trip into the Dudley tunnels and limestone mines, where she quizzes our resident geology expert, Graham Worton, on the area’s geological significance against the backdrop of the Dudley Canal Trust’s Singing Cavern.
We want to say a huge thank you to the Countryfile team for coming along – what a great way to spread the word about Dudley and all it has to offer.
If you missed the Countryfile episode on Sunday, 7th September – you still have time to watch it on BBC iplayer here.
It’ll only be available to watch until Sunday 14th September – so do it now!
