If your little ones go mad for getting messy, crave being creative and love to ‘ave a go at art – you need the ‘Juniors at Museums’ JAM club!
With the introduction of some brand new science themed activities for Spring 2015, they can now enjoy fun experiments too – which we’re pretty sure will go down with a Big Bang! And the best bit? You don’t have to worry about clearing up afterwards!
The JAM Club runs fun activities for kids and families across the borough’s three museums – Dudley Museum & Art Gallery, Red House Glass Cone and Broadfield House Glass Museum.
Here’s an idea of just some of the fun stuff your youngsters (and you) can join in with as part of our JAM-packed programme of events and activities. Full details of dates, times, venues, suggested ages for activities and cost (if applicable) can be downloaded from the Dudley council website here:
Have a go at being messy and sticky… and we tidy up. Quick, simple crafts to make and take home with you. Drop in at any time but allow 30 minutes.
NEW Science Club at Red House Glass Cone
A new, unique Science club aimed at 8 year olds+. Leave your child with us in our Education Gallery for two hours having fun whilst learning. A variety of safe science experiments and making activities each month. Come along and have a go.
NEW Simple Science at Broadfield House Glass Museum
Quick, simple science experiments or making activities. A different theme each month. Drop in at any time but allow 30 minutes.
Several craft activities to have a go at and take home; lots of sticking, sparkle and laughter with our museum education staff.
Simple searches. Drop in at anytime but allow at least 30 minutes at Dudley Museum & Art Gallery and Red House Glass Cone and an hour at Broadfield House Glass Museum as a free craft is included.
Glass Crafts at Broadfield House Glass Museum
Relaxed session for all the family. Drop into our workshop area and have a go at different glass crafts; a different activity each month. Crafts include glass painting, sand blasting, fusing and glass engraving.
Holiday School at Red House Glass Cone
Leave your child with us for a safe, fun and creative day. Children will need to bring a packed lunch and a mid-morning snack.
International Festival of Glass
The International Festival of Glass is the UK’s only festival celebrating the spectacle and diversity of glassmaking. Plenty of activities, events and exhibitions for all the family.
Fun for all the family; have a go at various glass crafts, take part in a tour or share your family memories. This is a HLF funded programme; ‘Women in the Glass Industry’. We hope to collect memories and experiences from visitors which will ultimately form part of a new permanent exhibition at the Red House Glass Cone.
Mad Maths and Marbles @ Broadfield House Glass Museum
A partnership with Family Learning Service. Aimed at reinforcing maths knowledge at KS1. No writing; just fun hands on activities including symmetry, sorting marbles and pattern in glass.
