October in Dudley looks frightfully good!

PRL_5302Make Dudley your local haunt this month and you’ll be spectacularly spooked as venues and attractions across the borough get into the spirit for Halloween.

To help you hunt down the ghastly ghosts, spooky spectres, grisly ghouls and frightening phantoms – we’ve compiled this list of ghastly goings on to help you pick your perilous destination…

There’s a menacing mix of family events here – entry charges may apply and some require you to book your terrifying tickets in advance. Please check each event for the full gruesome details.

Events:

Select dates between 7 Oct – 17 Dec – Dudley Ghost Tour from the Station Hotel 

This tour is not for the feint-hearted and has a discretionary age limit of 14. The tour starts and finishes in the Station Hotel at the bottom of Castle Hill, Dudley – reputably one of the most haunted buildings in the town.  You will take in various haunted sites on foot, including Dudley Castle itself, meeting a few of the “ghosts” of Dudley along the way. 24th to 25th Oct, 10am-4pm – No Tricks, Just Treats Halloween Party at the Red House Glass Cone

Wordsley’s Red House Glass Cone is inviting families to join them for a weekend of ghoulish entertainment at its ‘no tricks, just treats’ Halloween party.  There will be a scary trail around the cone and resident glass artists aim to leave visitors spellbound as they create glass witches’ hats and pumpkins in the hot glass studio.

26th Oct, 9.30am-3.30pm – Myths and Monsters themed Holiday School at Red House Glass Cone

Leave your child with us for a safe, fun and creative day.  Children will need to bring a packed lunch and a mid-morning snack. For ages 8+. £22.50 per person. Booking essential on 01384 815571.

28th Oct, 10.30am-3.30pm – Family Halloween crafts at Dudley Museum

29 Oct, 10.30am-3.00pm – Fused Glass Workshop: Spooks

Suitable for families. Sessions throughout the day.

29th-31st Oct, 6.30pm-10pm – Family Halloween Nights at the Black Country Living Museum

Visitors are in for a treat this Halloween as the Black Country Living Museum’s eerie gas-lit village comes to life with spellbinding magic shows, ghoulish face painting, fiery street performers and spine-tingling tales from the past by candlelight.

30th-31st Oct, 4.30pm-8.30pm – Children’s Halloween Boat Trips at the Dudley Canals & Limestone Mines

Make it a Halloween to remember with all the family on these special Children’s Boat Trips through Dudley’s fantastic underground caverns!  You’ll meet the wonderful Groovy UV Entertainments Company and their amazing ‘glow in the dark’ Halloween puppets. There’ll be incredible lightshows, great family entertainment and the kids are guaranteed lots of fun.  These trips last 1 hour.  Boats leave every half hour between 4.30pm and 7.30pm.
